I just bought this KR-6400 last night for $12.00!!!! The seller said she bought it new. So I guess got it from the original owner who has had it sitting around for 30 plus years. All lights work and I have tested the FM tuner audio on the headphone jack so far. I will test it with speakers tonight.

I just got the user manual....Can anyone tell me anything more about it? I am excited about this receiver. I hope it sounds as good as it looks.

Let me know if you have any further info on the KR-6400... Thanks!

Hey Oilmaster, thank you for the reply. I found the manual for it online last night.

I hooked it up to an old speaker and it played fine. I barely turned up the volume and the speaker was screaming! I verified both channels and hooked it up to some brand new polk speakers. It really sounds good and has plenty of power. I like it!

If you can barely turn the volume knob before it gets too loud, the unit may have an attenuator control. If so, cut it back a notch or two for a more usable range of motion. Very nice looking receiver! :thmbsp:

I dont think it has a attenuator control (unless thats inside the unit. I dont know). I think it was the 6ohm speaker with high sensitivity (and I was sitting right in front of it). I blew the foam out of the woofer surround! :D

I love mine, got 'er for $15. Nice receiver that's been on PC setup duty for a couple years now.

Good get!

Thanks for posting the pix. I bought one of these a few years ago and regretted selling it later. I never could remember the model number, now I know.
