Well, a guy found out I like speakers, and said "I have some you can have" (old LTV Altecs).

I went to pick them up last night. Ended up with 4 matching Altec 886As, 2 Altec 898B Corona's, a Technics SA-8000X Receiver, a Technics RS-858US Quad 8-Track Player/Recorder, Teac 350 Cassette Deck and BSR 710 Turntable. All of it has been in storage since 1989. All of it is in outstanding condition, easy 9.9/10.

Can't way to play with them.

Did a quick test. Tuner works and Tape 1 works. Each of the 4 channels has its own volume control and then there is a master volume. No balance controls per se. Too bad I have no 8-Tracks. Will have to grab a couple to test with.

Tested the Coronas. Sound OK for a bookshelf. Nice shape - no Howard's needed.
