My new system

So after much hand wringing and deciding to be a responsible adult (by not buying some stuff that would have pushed costs about four or five times higher) and being content with speakers I already own, I pulled the trigger on an Onkyo A-9010 integrated amp and a C-7030 CD player. These will be hooked up to some 20 something year old Pinnacle AC850 speakers. A tracking number shows the amp showing up tomorrow (not sure on the CD player yet). I'm pretty excited. My old HK6350R integrated amp crapped-out about two years ago so it's been awhile since the neighbors have gotten to listen to music with me. I'll update with pics as soon as I get it all hooked up. I'll probably end up getting a Pro-Ject turntable in the near future also.

Congratulations, Ken. I just got back into audio a couple years ago and making decisions has proven to be very difficult! Much better to be listening than debating and debating what to buy.

I haven't heard the Onkyo but like the fact that they are putting together a listener's amp without all the cinema channels. Wattage is shy of your HK, but your speakers are efficient at about 93db (I think), so all should be good.

Welcome to AK! If your old amp is still around there are plenty of folks here that can help you get it going as well.

Regards,

Michael

Cool! The A-9010 & C-7030 are well regarded.
I see that you are a Yamaha fan. Back in the day I had a C4/M2 combo and then switched out the M2 for a B6. Now I have a little A-560 integrated amp that I use for a headphone amp by my drum set.

So you've been without a system for nearly 2 years? No way in heck I could or would do that. I was going nuts when Hurricane Irma came through and knocked out the power for 4 days. Having no music was worse than not having the a/c working.
