I finally shipped my C-3RX from NC to CA! I've been thinking about shipping it but was concerned about damage... especially since it has levers for some of the functions. I found that a piece of thin plywood, the size of the bottom of the box, screwed to the bottom of the component works well to secure it. I used Styrofoam from an old TV to fit around the corners, sides, and top to keep it from moving. I think this will work well for shipping my KA-9100 next time I'm in NC.
This unit is in really nice condition, but it definitely needs cleaning and belts. There's a ding on the wood that looks worse in the picture; some stain will help hide it (the lighter bare wood shows a bit). The eject button worked previously, and I can open the door by pushing a lever inside, so that will definitely need some attention.
From what I've read, this is a one of the better decks, in terms of reliability, parts availability, ease of service, and performance. Any tips or suggestions on bringing it back to proper function are appreciated. In the meantime, here it is!
