My open back Harx-700 Mod, removable cable, and earpads

HEY EVERYONE!!! Its me again, SO this is another ludicrous mod of mine but this headphone sounds 10x better that how it was originally!!!!! I did the mandatory earpad mod, removable one sided cable mod, and recentley tody I cut vents in the back and added wire mesh to make them open-backs, the sound-stage is INSANE now, and the bass is so much smoother, not as punhy but just poured over my ears like honey. AMA!!! Thank you!

Hi, could you please share how you made it open? I am also trying to but can't seem to get the closed lid (with the JVC logo) off as I don't want to risk breaking the chassis. Thanks

Moreover, how did the driver feel for you after making it open? I plan to replace mine with the famous Tymphany Peerless 50mm driver but I read that it will make it too warm. Furthermore, could you please share how you did the detachable cable mod and wire mesh? I have access to 3D Printing and CNC so I would like to learn from you, thank you.

First off, THANK you for asking before ruining your headphones!
Secondly this was quite a while ago, But Ill tell you my best.

First remove the earpads, and unscrew the whole thing the "bluish-gray" disk with the Logo, etc is only attached by internal clips using some metal thing, you can push in all the clips, and it will come off, revealing a flat plastic layer, after that you can CAREFULLY use a knife to SLOWLY cut away, OR better yet use a large drill bit like this.

First off the sound-stage exponentially increased, but that also brought a slight rise in the mid's, and more sparkly treble, the bass stayed more or less the same though. (I have no idea about driver swaps, so I'm not sure about the Tymphany Peerless 50mm drivers....)
For the detachable cable mod all you need is a soldering iron, solder, and a female 3.5mm lug, and an aux cable. There are great videos about that from custom can, etc

The mesh is from some chicken coop I cut it with pliers, and glued it on the backside of the case. But the finer the better.
