My Prodigal Technics SP-10 MkII all done!! FINALLY!!!

Sound Dragon

Yawns and sets his couch on fire!
After many months (years?)......a lot of time, Money, sweat and tears. My Technics SP-10 MkII is done. Refurbished inside and out, recapped along with a LED strobe. Custom Name badge, not to mention the beautiful hand built Plinth from Larry at Vintage Analog Restoration. All standing on ISO Acoustic Gaia feet.

Featuring a Graham Phantom B-44 Tone arm redone by the man himself to almost Phantom III specs. Currently sporting a Lyra Lydian B. And my absolutely amazing Cyrus Phono Signature phono stage. All protected by an Acrylic Dust cover the covers the whole deck.

I am one happy Dragon!

Very sexy indeed, love my SP10mk2.
Off topic do you have a Cyrus cd player too? If so message me as when it starts to reject discs there is a cheap fix if you know what part to buy, I can give you the link you need, as they all fail.
Chris

no Cyrus CD player. But I do plan on springing for the external power supply. It is supposed to elevate the performance of the Phono pre!

You are lucky the cd8se is a flawed genius. Love mine but been of to service 6 times and the last time I fixed it myself.
Dont know how much difference the psu makes, but with the amp and even the cd player they are supposed to be a worthy addition.

I guess over the years the SP-10 MK II and the Beogram 8000 were the two turntables I regret not having owned. The Technics for its smooth stable noise free and accurate rotational capabilities, and the B&O for its ability to track warped records, though I didn't care to much for the MMC cartridges and is why I never owned one. I loved linear tracking arms at the time and installing one on a SP-10 would have been a real chore and thats why. I passed. Besides I had pretty much given up on records and was dealing with CD's. and HS analog tape.
