My review: KEF LS50 vs. Wharfedale Denton 80th Anniversary

If you want to go to nirvana on your Wharfedales play Alan Hovahaness “And God Created The Great Whales”. When you are than in a state of grace listen to Hovahaness Symphony No. 2 Mysterious Mountain.

Thinking of other recordings well suited for Wharfedales and the English sound. Bring up Ah*Nee*Mah
This is partnership between Diane, and David Arkenstone it is New Age Native American. I particularly like the album Ancient Visions (2005)

I have a pair of Dentons coming in and was curious in the three years since this the OP, whether anyone had any opinions or experiences in trying out bi wring or swapping out the supplied jumper plate for some OFC wire...or "audiophile" jumpers..thanks

I tried bi-wirig mine from my Parasound amp and didn't notice a difference. I may try bi-amping them off of my Dynaco and Parasound, just for fun and see what happens.

I consider audiophile jumpers as pure snake oil with pixie dust sprinkled on top.

If you open up a speaker you'll discover they are wired from the drivers to the posts with pretty generic OFC cable (exceptions could be high-end loudspeakers), so putting in 50mm of snake oil wire in a length of speaker cable of around 2000mm or more... well I'll let you decide the logic in that.

I have built loudspeakers in the past, the last pair around 20 years ago I built for a friend, large heavy floorstanders made from 1" MDF, cost of the drivers and crossovers etc. alone were around £500 or so if I remember. I internally wired these with cuts from the bi-wire speaker cable that was used and if you wanted to a good mod could be to replace the internal wires with your speaker cable for continuity. The internal wires are longer than the short jumpers but even doing this will have negligible effect compared to everything else... I.e. what amp and dac etc. you are using.

I have the magical Denton 80s and I just used short cuts of budget OFC cable for the jumpers which probably are better than the supplied brass plates, as for expensive jumpers... don't waste your money and put it towards something that does make a difference like a better DAC or even another DAC. I like switching between my Arcam CDS27 SACD streamer's internal DAC and my Rega DAC for a different sound or one that suits certain music genres better.
