My SX 80 series family so far

Went home for spring break and while I was there I snagged this clean little SX-580. Surprised at how clean and warm it sounds. Will keep it in rotation for a little while. Thought i would throw in a couple pics of it with the 780 and 980 and show the size difference. Now I need a 1280 or 1980 to make even the big 980 look small. Also have one each of the SX-x2x, SX-x5x, and SX-3x00 series so I will add more to them. Looking for an SX-3900 right now. :beerchug:

lookin good..I've got a 780 880 and 980 here..soon to get two 1980's..

NICE! The gentleman I bought the 580 from had a mint mint 1980 and I still can't get over how amazing it was. But if you get a chance you should pick up a 580 or 680, they are so small they can actually fit in a standard 17" cabinet or anywhere else you want. Very animated also, the power meters jump around a lot more because they don't have as much power so they are always working hard. :D

I like the x80 Pioneers. I've got an SX-680, SX-780 and SX-880 myself. I love the warm glow of the dial at night, and the black meters.

Yeah..I plan to, I am working on acquiring the whole 80 series then moving on to finishin up my 50 series collection...for the 50 series i'll need to grab a 450 550 650 750..got all the heavyweights done lol

Nice collection! :thmbsp:

I got all the larger XX50s, starting with the 850, then the 950, the 1050 and the 1250...

But with the XX80 series I just got one and stopped. There was no way to climb further upwards from the SX-1980. :D

Actually, I like the look of the black meters more than the white ones, but I've found more XX50 units than XX80 units here. Still, I think by now I've seen ALL the Pioneer receivers from both series. Couldn't possibly have bought them all, though, so I just chose a few as I found them, usually the biggest ones, and left the other (mostly the smaller) ones behind.

(Actually, I'm going to get rid of the lesser XX50s, except for one 1250. The 850 is long gone, and I ALMOST sold the 1050, but chickened out. I will sell it one day, though. Too much gear, not enough room.) The 1250 and the 1980 and the 1010 will be the long-term keepers from the Pioneer stable.
