My system at work...

Ok...I know this is excessive, but as soon as I got a nice office at work, I decided that it would be one of my targeted places for building a sound system (after all, there are only so many places at home to build systems for). After several years experimenting, I think I finally have my ultimate office system together....

I have a nice 2A3 amp made by Min Yang of Tube Audio Lab run by a Bottlehead Extended Foreplay III preamp with a Sherwood tube tuner and a 1626 Darling SET headphone amp. These all drive some Altec 604C speakers in big mahogany cabinets - I put new grills on the cabs with some knock-off Altec badges. I dread changing jobs - moving these cabs into my present office was some serious work, but well worth it... Listening to Van Morrison's Astral Weeks right now....bliss.

This may compete with my main system at home.... 300b driven Tannoy Golds vs 2A3 driven Altec 604s. I think I will need to listen to both a lot more to decide which I like better - a good problem to have.

Nice.

I had the Sherwood integrated that matched your tuner for awhile in the 1990s. I wasn't impressed with it, back then, but I wish I would have kept it. It was compact compared to most tube amps, and the white face was unique.

nice! bet that sounds awesome:thmbsp:

hope you have a good lock for your door

btw, did you get that goodmans/lafayette triax that was on the auction site?

No - I was outbid. I was mostly looking to buy it to see if it would be easier to sell a pair than a single. With my Altecs and Tannoys and space limits, I don't think I could find a place to play another set of big speakers.

Very cool system - especially for a non home office - not sure how you did it - I couldn't bring Cornwalls to my old cubicle.
