Hello all. Just wanted to post some pics and my opinions on my growing (to my wife's dismay), vintage speaker collection. I'm sure most of you will recognize these speakers. In the mix is: Dynaco A-25s, EPI-M100s (x2), KLH Model 22s, HH Scott S-15s and Avid Model 100. Below is my own non-scientific poll:
Best sounding: Dyanco A-25s (runner up: Avid 100s)
Most Suprising: KLH 22s (so small but sound so good!)
Nicest Looking (Covered): Dynaco A-25
Ugliest (Uncovered): Dynaco A-25 (EPI 100s not far behind)
Most Underrated/Underappreciated: HH Scott S-15s
One Thing I Wish I Could Change: Wood Veneer on Avids, versus vinyl
The only modifications I've made to any of these sets, was a recap of the A-25s and I replaced a woofer (w/an original) on one of my HH Scott S-15s. My EPIs I have in the bedroom system, for a stacking experiment. I have a pair of Klipsch KSB 3.1s in my main system (with the A-25s), and the Scotts and KLHs run together in a secondary system (all my speakers are run by vintage Pioneer receiver/amps). Please excuse the invasion of Boyd's collectibles in the pics. My wife puts up with this growing speaker collection if she is allowed to decorate around them. Any comments/opinions welcome!
