My vintage system is complete!

And I am a happy camper! After 18 or so months of saving, watching, researching and then deciding, the hunt is now over. For now, at least. LOL!

Adcom GFA545II power amp
Apt Holman Preamp (recapped/restored)
Basis 2001 turntable with Rega RB900 arm
ADS 910 speakers on bespoke stands

I also have a McIntosh 4100 receiver, also fully recapped/restored, I’m swapping in from time to time.

I’m sure I will look to make some upgrades in a few months but for now I’m going to enjoy my current set up.
AWESOME!!! :thumbsup::D:beerchug:

I realized, through some very good advice here, that I should listen to my current, set up and enjoy it before making any rash decisions on upgrading something I may not even need to upgrade!
Very wise, patience saves a lotta bucks in this sport. I like your system, the pieces are a good match imo; I’ll bet it sounds pretty nice. Always thought the 4100 was a very nice piece of equipment too.

Enjoy the music. :thumbsup:

Beautiful setup. Enjoy and watch out for that upgrade snake. It will jump up and bite you in the a$$

guess you could call my stereo system vintage. pre-amp 30+ years old, tuner 40+ years old, Turntable 50+ years old, phono cartridge around 15 years old, speakers 15 years old, program equalizer 52 years old another 40 years old, dynamic expander 44 years old. CD recorder, 33 years old, The only items newer our the power amps 2 years old, amp for the remote speakers 53 years old, Maximum performance indicator is close to 50 years old, and the remote speakers about 25 years old. The tuner, IMG_1624.jpeg pre-amp and MPI-4 have been in the shop for restoration and repairs. The crossover, Crown EQIMG_2485.jpg and the multi channel amps shown are for the separate HT system. I have a thick pile rug on order for the area shown. I for got the phono pre-amp, its 3 or 4 years old and the Blue tooth reiever which is two years old.. You can easily mix and match Mcintosh Equipment. Once upon a time there were two MC 275's in this cabinet back in the late 60's and to the middle 70's. The cabinet I purchased in early 69 and it has been reconfigured and refinished three times.

The HT system the Processor I purchased in 2017 the tuner is 30 years old, the turntable a year old as is the cartridge, the crossovers are 50 years old, the speakers are close to 50 or over 50 years old, the amps though identical aren't the same age. One is 15 years old the other 18 months, the 3 equalizers are 48 years old as our the crossovers, the CD player is 5 years old the MVP player is 8 yers old. The CD player also feeds the stereo system and the phono pre-amp also feeds the CD recorder, and the HT system. The C-34 also feeds the HT system. So anything played on the Stereo can be listened to on the HT system. But notDSN_9947.jpg IMG_2636.jpeg the other way around. There is a new addition, too but I haven't photographed it yet. Its about 16 years old. The Crown EQ's are used as speaker EQ for the HT system as our the UREI electronic crossovers.
