The owner confirmed it is tubed, he couldn't remeber the brand - thought emerson. I know it is not that.

I thought packard bellish.

Anyone with a guess

Searching did turn up a couple PB consoles with arch motifs, but not that exact model. Hmm.

looks like I get this tomorrow evening. The owner still has not told me what brand, but has reassured me it is tubed.

Anyone else have a guess?

Mark

naw, they are del;ivering. Apparantly he lives on some nsty 4x4 trail or something and doesn't want anyone to come up and get it.
Fine by me!

pics to come when I actually get it.

My vote is Packard bell but Sears (already noted), GE, Curtis Mathes are others that come to mind when I look at it.

The thing is huge. Looks like 8-track potential to me. Hopefully the tube isn't a CRT in that middle section :D

you mean:yes:

looks like a GE to me, the one I scrapped had a heavy duty PP EL84 Stereo amp in it and some CTX Speakers with over wound voice coils on the 12 and 5 inch speakers.

Then again it could have a 5 watt solid state amp and a BSR changer, you just never know.

the verdict is in
PAckard Bell

Solid state amp, tubed tuner:sigh::thumbsdn:

Really neat cabinet, but dang, it just won't sound like a tubed unit.
