Mystery Pioneer CS-88's

I just acquired a pair of mint Pioneer CS-88 speakers. The mystery is, they
don't agree with the schematic I have pulled from several different sources.

The plate on the back identifies them as CS-88 (no suffix). The schematic
shows the CS-88 as having a 30-48F woofer, a 12-63F Mid-Range, and a
66-47F Tweeter. 3 drivers. The pair I have, have 5 drivers. The 30-48F
Woofer, the 12-63F Mid-Range, Two 66-47F Tweeters, and a PT-222F-3
Super Tweeter. All wiring appears to be original, and I find no evidence of
any modifications at all.

Anyone ran into this before?

Mine are like yours, in having the super tweeter. I'm not sure why the schematic is wrong, but I don't think there was another CS-88 out there.

there is a cs-88a but thats the only other cs-88 i know of i have a pair of the cs-88a's

I think the CS-77 might be the 3-driver version, not sure though.

Well, sounds like they are regular 88's then. The schematic was confusing as I went on other sites, and came up with the same schematic. I unhooked my HPM-100's from my SX-1050, and hooked these up, and am very pleased with the sound. Was very pleasantly surprised.

i was suprised with my cs-88a reading about them people say they are dark but after a good cleaning of the midrange and tweeter pots made then sing pretty nice. people say that the box is to small for that woofer but since the midrange and the tweeter are closed back the woofer has the whole cabinet space for itself
