Mystery speakers, 2409, 10" EV Sentry's? High powered Alnicos x4!

I found these speakers last week, got them from an audiophile who's getting a divorce... the only hits I've gotten on them is that they were, or look a hell of a lot like the early alnico EV Sentry 10" alnicos... they are crazy powerful! By the looks of them they handle over 100 Watts a piece, the coil on them seems to be either three or four inches but closer to 4 in by the looks of the spider and the inside of the suspension. And I've just never seen a set of four 10-in speakers that were so awesome and Powerful, and incidentally quite full range! I mean up to about 3K they are pretty flat! I can't really speak to how much more they have over that because I didn't test them that thoroughly, but they are super efficient and high compliance, and the kits and everything about them seems to scream EV! Kind of like Altec a little bit, but way more muscular! But the only identifying number on any of them is 2409 on the back of the magnet! Is that ring any bells? And the fact there's four of them!

I don't believe so. The frames and the cones really do remind me a lot of some of the electro voice's I've seen. More so the cones, but the frames like ones I've seen in the Sentry amplifiers, and only early ones. Just wondered if anyone could solve this one! And with four of them, seems like it should be a pretty easy mystery to solve. I mean, four of these in a cabinet, a single cabinet, would have to be a bass amplifier... I don't think you could explain that otherwise, as it'd be about 600 W! Two per cabinet would be a pretty big system and probably at Pro level. So I don't know. Just throwing guesses out there.

Ev didn't make many instrument cabs. Few arrays but I don't think they were 10".

For what it's worth, those are CTS baskets... Who put the magnets on them, no clue.

He didn't say. He just marveled at the big coils and magnets, as did I. He had a good eye for oddball stuff. I gave him 500 for a basement full. These are just some.
Someone said they're cts? I guess that's possible. I did a Google search and ev came up first, from a pro dealer, which of course coukd be wrong. Cts was really good about putting their numbers on them. ev, not so much. The klipsch heresy's in the pic have ev tweets and woofs, but no ev stamps, just klipsch stamps. Just saying. Gonna dig up my search.

I found a similar result from speaker lab, and these magnums look like them... BUT i found a numbers on the kits, if anyone can decipher. "INSP-2713" also in the pic.

Ok, so these are EV sentry's. And the other pic, I got from the Yandex search engine, which is the best for detailed web image searches, and listed the ones shown as EV... also, I've rarely seen cts with this color of basket, and I rarely ever seen them if ever with cloth covers over the magnet, typically having those sardine can covers. But I'm thinking these things would actually be really killer speakers for those heresies I just got! They have EVS in them, from the mid-70s, but these things would be off the hook and with a port in the back and all the instructions they have here to beef those speakers up here to more modern specs, I'm thinking they would be perfect! The ones I have in there now are the later ceramic magnet EV, but these things would kill those in every metric!

ok... so Heresy's are 12" drivers... as are these mystery speakers. DOH... I was working with JBL D110F's the last few weeks... and I guess I got a little warped... the D110's are tiny speakers... not 10's at all... even the baskets don't measure 10"... you can fit them into an 8.5" opening, I believe, and a 9" cube! So, I thought these were 10's... because of the opening on the Heresy, which measures 10... and because I don't seem to be able to go a week without saying something idiotic! lol So I got it out of the way this week! *UGH*
