Mystery speakers... sealed cabs - how to?

When these were up and running.....THEY SOUNDED AWESOME!
So that's my main motivation for all the work!

I would then spend my time trying to figure out how the divers are mounted, you might have to go in the front anyway before I would destroy the backs since the back only has two screws I would imagine they were just there to hold it in while the glue dries.

I am worrying those cabinets are going to fall apart once you get the backs off...!

Sorta kidding, but they look fairly thin, wonder what is inside?
My guess, an 8" woofer and a 3" cone tweeter

Hmmm, I have seen alot of drivers on here but not those. It will be interesting to find out who made them.

Well you can at least try to pop out the back with the handle of a hammer or something thru the port but I feel they wont move.

Yep- that's just-post-Utah, Pyle (Utah became Pyle, some time in the late 1970s).

Regards,
Gordon.
So now I'm looking for a refoam kit but not seeing anything offered when I search 8" Pyle speaker! Anyone know what I should be ordering?
Looks like only part that needs repair is smaller inner foam piece.

Assuming you're talking about the black stuff that looks like a donut broken in half in the pic above?

If that's the case, it appears to be a dust guard that protected the voice coil gap of the LF cone. It's going to be very difficult to replace that so that: a) it's effective, and b) without doing any damage. Be thankful it came out as 2 big pieces rather than crumbs littering the voice coil gap.

I'd just be careful not to leave the drivers laying on their backs/magnets, and when they're in a box i'd always keep a grill over them foregoing any replacement of that part.
