MYSTERY TURNTABLE? !?!?

Listen to the Numark you posted, and listen to the Technics SL1200 MK2. This is what we're talking about, yes?

So, listen to both and then pick the one you like better. Then, ask yourself; why if both tables have the same specs did I like this one better?

You seem to be listening with your eyes, instead of your ears.

Cheers!
:)

Seems as though the specs of Technics tables are "ALL" important when comparing to let's say belt drives with "inferior" wow & flutter or speed accuracy. Now for some reason those same "specs" for another table are meaningless? I know, lets have our cake and eat it too.

I'm not pointing fingers at any one individual, but when tt recommendations are asked for it seems some bash others suggestions based on specification comparisons.

I initially determined it wasnt necessary for me to reply to this post since I couldnt grasp the intended message behind it but now that ive failed to make any progress after carefully re-reading the post for a fourth consecutive time, my feelings of discontent are much stronger than indifference and curiosity has gotten the best of me.

Do you mind sharing what the hell youre referring to? =)
Im having difficulty understanding how youve construed the content of a post in this thread as having the implication of Technics specifications being "all important" when utilized in comparison with that of a belt driven turntable when no such comparison had ever taken place. Clarification of the matter would be tits. Thanks
Id also like to address the comment pertaining to "requested TT recommendations" and the "bashing of spec based suggestions."
Im not aware of a post in this thread containing a request for a TT recommendation. Please advise.
The part about "spec bashing". I get that one. I just hope im actually "getting" the same thing youre referring to. Im pretty sure were on the same page with this particular.

I'm more curious how it compares (sound wise) to the more popular OEM direct drive models out there today.

I don't believe in using the specs as a measurement that this Numark is instantly better than those turntables. Rather, the difference in specs should indicate it was built using different parts. And so I wonder how it sounds compared to them.

Makes sense.

I still want to find official documentation on net to which I can reference from as well as an explanation as to why Numark has an entirely different deck out on the market with the very same model number "TT1600"

As I said, my comments were not pointed at any one individuals comments, here or in other threads, but at comments in general where the Technice tables are "proven" to be superior just because of specs.

Yet here the OP is being told just because the tables specs are in the same ball park as the technics "those can't be trusted, specs aren't everything", and they're right in a sense, it could actually be "better" than the specs imply. But I would imagine if the specs are accurate and its sound is only hohum then maybe it's the arm letting the table down.

Either way, specs definitely do not tell the whole story, our ears must be the final arbiter. We are definitely in agreement on this.

As mentioned, this is an early Numark, the basic design of which went on to for the basis of the Vestax PDT-4000 and PDT-5000 models.

It's a good deck, fitted with a genuine Jelco SA-250 variant arm and much better than the company's current efforts - I'd grab it.
