NAD 1155 and NAD 2150 Advice Please!

Hi all,

New here and this is my first post!

My father has a NAD 1155 and NAD 2150, they have been playing up recently. Crackling sounds when using certain dials, one channel seems distorted plus a few other bits.

I had my Marantz serviced recently after having similar issues and the chap re soldered a few parts and it is working like new now.

I have asked for a price for both of my father's NADs and been quoted a rough figure of £75 per item (so £150 all in providing no other issues are found).

I was looking at changing the amps for him as he is a little short of space so was going to look at a single unit.
If I was going to sell the amp and pre amp I would want it working at its best but has anyone got any idea of how much these two units would or should get if sold after being serviced and working at their best?

Today the British Pound is worth $1.70 CDN, or $1.27 US.

Myself, I'd spend a few quid and buy a can of DeOxit D5 to spray in these scratchy controls. That's probably what the shop would do anyway.
 
I agree that a can of Deoxit will likely solve your problems. If the channel distortion remains, then my guess is there is a crack in one of the solder runs for that channel. This is an easy repair to make and requires no parts to be purchased.
