Hi all,
First, my apologies if I'm in the wrong forum. It's been many, many years since I've visited the site. Good to be back. A general question about repair and value. I'll try and keep this short.
5+ years ago I purchased the gear listed in the headline (minus the Luxman - that was a thrift store find) primarily for the Argonauts. I never used the NAD gear because the 2200 had the tip of a RCA stuck inside of the right channel input. I took the cover off to try and fix myself but it looked more complicated than I though it would be so I put the cover back on and let it be. I didn't want to jack something up (pardon the pun) trying to do it myself.
It's been years since any of that gear has been used - minus the Argonauts. I'll need to get that RCA tip out of the 2200. My questions....
If I'm going to have the 2200 serviced, what other maintenance/repair issues should I have them address while the cover is off and should I have the them go through the 1240 as well? Do NAD caps go bad? Could the Luxman use a cleaning/oiling as well? Is that something I might be able to do myself? The Luxman is in the original box. When I got it home I just put it in the garage and it's been there since. Don't know it turns on and spins but that's it. Never plugged it into anything. Sorry about the vague Luxman details.
Last, determining value. What site would you suggest I look at for previous sale prices? What do you feel it's worth? The gear may be old but it's not too shabby.
Thanks in advance!
