NAD 3020i 220V

Hello:

I just purchased a NAD3020i amplifier as part of a group of older hi fi components. It is a 220V model that a friend bought online several years ago, not realizing that it was the 220V and not the 115V model.

Can this unit be converted or re-wired to work on 115V? I do not believe that it has any multi voltage switch on the back panel (I do not have it here yet, it is still at my friend's home).

It looks OK for 120V / 60Hz (USA) from the manual, it's the same transformer but it would need internal rewiring, there's no switch.
 
Is it a matter of just moving a few leads on the transformer taps?

Would I need to compare the US schematic and the European schematic?

Or, has someone provided published guidance on this before?

The schematic in the service manual would appear to only show secondary side fuses, which wouldn't need to be swapped.

The exact wiring for the power input unfortunately isn't properly covered in the schematic, however. So one needs to refer to the pcb layout & wiring diagram instead. But in both of the two service manual copies, which I've had a look at (HifiEngine & ManualsLib), the power input wiring isn't really well visible - so you'll probably have to have a look at the actual pcb to make sense of that. However, what one could usually expect in case of just one tranny for both voltage ranges, is, that it'll have two primary windings, which are used in series for the higher and in parallel for the lower voltage range(s).
