I'm trying to repair a NAD 5100 CD player. It doesn't recognize any discs.
Here's what I already know:
- The Laser works
- After closing the tray, it tries to find focus. The lens travels up and down again. After a few tries it stops with no disc error
- If I lift up the disc during focus search about 2mm (further away from the laser), it suddenly finds focus, spins up the disc and even reads TOC
- After pressing play, it seems to seach focus again, but doesn't find. If I lift uf the disc again a little bit, it spins up and plays without any problem.
The strange thing is, that after finding focus, the disc is at the normal position again and it still works.
Can anyone help me with that?
