[Solved] NAD 7155 Receiver Help
The Pre Out Jumper I made was insufficient. Used a regular 3ft. RCA cable to stand in and it worked great! Always check to see if the Pre Amp / Main in connection is not hard wired because it is any easy thing to slip by and render the receiver useless. [But this is Audio Karma and everyone knows this...but me]
Over and Out problem Solved.
Hello, Thanks in advance for the help!
My dad had a NAD 7155 Receiver and a 2155 Amp sitting down in our basement for several years. I pulled them out yesterday and cleaned (as well as I could) the dust out (it wasn't too bad). I also sprayed the pots but was unable to effectively reach the Volume/Balance pot. Hooked the 7155 up and there was little volume when turned up all the way. I know that there is a laundry list of things that could be wrong but is there a good way to trouble shoot? The 2155 worked great.
More info:
Today I realized that the Pre Out / Main In jumpers were missing, I made some with 20 gauge wire (sitting around the house) and RCA interconnects....no luck.
Yesterday I tried to bridge the 2155 and 7155 and still very little volume.
Are my jumpers insufficient? Is it an output transistor issue or greater? ahh, I thought I was going to be lucky and be able to save money on not buying a receiver for a while. (I have a JVC from the 2000's but want vintage)
I know that the QC on NAD wasn't that great but I would love to have this receiver up and working. Not much on this gear but rumor has it that they sound great.
Any help would be great! Thanks again.
