Lunch! Man, I'm getting ready for dinner...oh and listening to some Bacharach.

The NAD is happy today!

On work nights we eat dinner between 6:30 & 7:00 because we get home from work at 6:00. We both work Monday thru Thursday and we head out to work at 6:10 a.m. and get home at 6:00 p.m. We are both Social Services Caseworkers for the State of Oregon so we get Holidays and weekends off. My wife has been with the state 25 yrs and I have been there for almost 14 yrs. She worked at OPB (Oregon Public Broadcasting) before that and I worked at Hewlett Packard. On weekends we usually eat dinner earlier. Tomorrow it's back to work!

We just finished dinner. I made BBQ chicken while the wife made corn on the cob and potato salad. It was a serious scorcher here in NE Ohio today; over 90 degrees and humid. Back in the cool air conditioning now listening to Art Pepper +11!!

Ouch!! Currently its overcast and probably a scorching 62ish here in the PNW....I did the BBQ chicken yesterday, much nicer day about 70ish.

You can keep the humidity.....after being away from the south so long now I cannot take an ounce of humidity anymore......Plus I like being outside, unless I am playing with the NAD!!

MWalt...you were/are military? If so thank you for your service!!

I am off to lacrosse practice with my son....

Thanks! (was/retired)

Both of my daughters live in Lynnwood so I surely know the climate in your area. I used to love living in Seattle. I got stuck in Ohio because my wife is from here and made me :sigh:

Nad pp375

Quick update on the NAD phono stage, MDC PP375.......I think its broken in very well!! Been spinning vinyl since I got home from work, about 2 hours now. The internal rumble filter seems to have kicked in full gear, I hear very little noise from my noisy Audio Technica TT, only vinyl surface noise really.

The low end has become really nice!! Full, deep but not messy at all, this also might be the Nagaoka fully breaking in too, since I got them about the same time exactly one month ago....so could be a combo of both.

Regardless, its sounding pretty sweet for my vinyl. I may be changing my mind about a new phono stage when I upgrade the TT......This NAD piece is pretty nice.

I like it.:music:

Catcher,
Thanks for your enthusiasm about this amp- I have you to thank for bringing it to my attention and helping me to pull the trigger.
You weren't exaggerating! After an afternoon of listening it has literally shattered my highest expectations for what I thought would be possible / reasonable in an amplifier upgrade (see my thread in modern hi-fi).
Unbelievable amp. The best I have ever heard- I had no idea it would sound this good.

What up avanti!! I am looking at an upgrade to my NAD phono amp, probably gonna get the Musical Surroundings Nova II, while shopping at a local hi-fi store I started looking at some int amps, I started to feel the itch! Then I refocused on the Nova II.
When I got home I was reminded why I bought the C356BEE in the first place.....I just can't replace it without more than dbl its price, I am not ready to do that and not sure when either.....For me its just that nice of an amp, it plays well for my music.

Hope it brings you many hours of musical bliss..Enjoy the music!

Cheers!
(make sure you post your NAD in the British gear thread)

Well, it looks like I may just go ahead and get me one of these NAD 356bee integrated, I've been pondering, researching, and auditioning. And reading the glowing words you have shared on this amp has me nearly sold, I will probably get the DAC option, as it also seems to be well regarded..
I have a variety of ADS speakers to pair with it, and currently use an NAD 3150, which still sounds very nice, but is getting old. The Peachtree amps also have my attention, but some of their features are limited. The 356bee seems to offer more flexibility as well as upgrades, and having 4 speakers connects is probably the main reason I am leaning towards the NAD.
Thanks for sharing your experiences breaking in this amp, as it seems quite apparent, that since you started this thread, you still in love with your choice. I also am a big Prog fan, jazzrock, jazz, classical etal lover.

I still believe this amp is hard to beat for the money, musically tough to beat IMO. Yea the options are nice to have....

Enjoy it!

I stopped by a HiFi shop today and took a listen to a couple of integrateds. First was McIntosh MC6500 on sale for $2795, then the NAD C356BEE on sale for $599 demo unit.
Anyway I liked the NAD better. I may be heading back there to pick it up!
