I'm new here...this is my first post to the site.
The tonearm lifter on my NAD 5125 went awry somehow, became loose, so I just removed it with the intention of putting it back in...but it doesn't seem to want to sit right.
Wouldn't be a huge issue, since I rarely use the lifter anyhow....my index finger works just fine. But the automatic return function is a huge problem, obviously, as it will drag the stylus across the record.
Assuming I'm too clumsy to figure out how to get the lifter to act like it should (and I've tried and tried, believe me), as an alternative, is there a simple way to defeat the automatic tonearm return feature? Does anyone know if it's an optical switch I can defeat by simply snipping a wire? (Assuming I can get inside the thing.)
I bought this TT used, so I have no manuals, etc.
Thanks.
