Hi all,
Seeking opinions and guidance from experienced folks here. I think I'm going to have to bring the issue described below to a repair shop.
1) Problem description: Sound from my analog source dips intermittently; left channel only.
2) Sound returns for a limited time (anywhere from 3hrs - 36hrs) when wiggling the RCA interconnects gently at the preamp.
2a) Noticed that the preamp's female RCA terminals are a bit loose.
3) Problem returns eventually.
4) Today I opened my CA7A up and noticed that a small plastic piece had broken. See below.
This sits atop a screw above the RCA female plugs. The image below shows what it looks from inside the unit.
Does this not only explain the looseness, and hence the intermittent signal loss?
In the event that this part cannot be re-sourced (either from a dysfunctional CA7 or other means), how might this problem be resolved?
