Nakamichi cdc-4a intermittent distortion (Audio mute transistor identification)

I have been working on a Nakamichi CDC-4A for intermittent distortion issues and am focusing on the audio mute transistors. Apparently, they are prone to failure and after reading about the symptoms, distortion and both channels being muted, I would like to find them and check them to replace or eliminate the issue. I ordered a copy of the schematic, and I am having trouble identifying them. I keep reading that they are most likely a pair of 2SC2878 transistors, but I cannot find them on any of the boards at all and they are not listed on the parts list in the schematic. I also read that they are typically located near the RCA output jacks but the transistors that are there don't come up as designed for the purpose of audio muting. Can anyone help me identify these by transistor number or part number that would be on the schematic?

Thank you
