Nakamichi MR-1 is eating my tapes

I have a Nakamichi MR-1 that has developed a problem. The capstan loops the tape for about 5 turns then stops but the idle still rotating and start eating the tape.

I removed and restored the motors, but it only works for 5 minutes and I start eating the tape again (probably I didn't correctly or they are just gone). I was looking to replace the motors, I found some on eBay, but I'm not sure if they are the correct replacement
