Nakamichi Receiver 2 thoughts?

The Receiver 2 is a very good sounding unit, but they suffer from a few issues. First are the output relays. On the RE-2 (same unit, different face) and Receiver 1 I've had, both needed new relays. If when you switch the unit on with the volume turned down and a source sending a signal, there is little or no output as you slowly turn it up, then suddenly there's sound, the relay contacts are oxidized. Replacing them is a pain, requiring removal of the rear panel. The other problem is the preamp's low voltage regulators. They run very hot and can bake the PCB. If the unit's been used a lot, there will be a darkened area in the middle.
Aside from those, it's a solid unit. What is the seller asking and does it include the remote?

They're asking $150 for a pile that also includes two sony single disc CDPs and what appear to be two dvd players. No evidence of a remote.
I'm trying to decide if it's really all about seeing the two Naks stacked, which is not the best reason to buy.
I'd offer $40 to see if they'd bite but should probably concentrate on things i really want.
This hobby is hell if you are given to capricious whims!

Oh yea, that's definitely a pile... $150 for that mess, they must be crazy. For $40 bucks I'd buy it, if they would do that.
Make no mistake, the Nakamichi receivers from that era are not as well thought of as the earlier Stasis models, but are quality pieces. Solidly built basic stereo (no video crap) and not inexpensive new ($600-$650 for receiver 2). The RE-2 currently resides with one of my uncles. Over the last ten years, he's tried a few different units, Sansui 9090, NAD 7240 and a couple more, but the RE-2 is the one he likes the best. Sound quality and operation. Kind of picky, still the Naks been there over a year and he has no desire to try something else. The Receiver 1 is still here. Remote receiver is dead and the FM has this annoying buzz. It wasn't well taken care of and I got it dirt cheap. I use it for testing preamps (jumpers in the back) speakers, etc...

I recently picked up a RE-2 and like it a lot, sounds good. Mine had the relay issue. I carefully drilled a hole through the relays and hosed them with deoxit. Works fine now.
Had one in the barn for awhile. Liked it, but not as much as their SR and TA line ups. Gave it away in a clean out.
