NASA Artemis II Launch Day is April 1st - fingers crossed

Seems that the available space inside »Orion« those four people have to stay in for the next 10 days equals a cube of only very slightly more than 2 by 2 by 2 meters.

I for one propably couldn’t stand it for 10 minutes.

Nice launch - so far so good.

Sporadic picture quality and angles depending on what channel you watch. I've been surfing around for replays with the best angles and quality.

And some coverage could not stop yakking during the initial launch.

It's a day 10 mission - this should be interesting.

Feel free to post them up, Erik. The shot above is a beaut.

I remember Apollo 11, the 1st manned mission to the moon on July 20, 1969. Every man, woman, and child in America was gathered around a TV watching in amazement as history was being made.

It was the largest percentage of Americans to ever watch any program on TV. Approximately 93% of Americans and over 600 million worldwide watched. Nothing like it since.

The video was grainy but there were hundreds of full color stills taken too. I remember my Dad got us kids a stack of the stills. They were perfect quality and awesome. It was one of the proudest moments in US history.

President John F. Kennedy's pledge to the American people had come true. He promised in 1962 we'd have a man on the moon before 1970.

Listening to the broadcasted conversation between the crew and the ground control ladies some three hours before leaving the Earth orbit, I was baffled about how frequently the words urine and water bags were used. Could it be that the »loo problem« hasn’t been fully solved yet?
