Well Inspired by @needlestein and wanting to get Shibata Re tips for my Acutex Carts I bought a Shibata stylus for that.
But then whilst browsing the bay i found this Entre' EC-20 with just a nub of its sapphire cantilever left.
So I finally got the nerve to try it tonight.
So I ddi a trial run with the Shibata and no Glue.
Looks pretty good !!! So I removed it off the nub and dipped the end in glue to adhere it .
Got it!!! Then I decided to make sure It was on down tight enough and Boing!!!!!
The new can't flew off and disappeared into the mess of my workshop beck, floor
or the top of my peachfuzz head. Could not find it !!! Ugh !!!
So I wasn't going to give up and cut off the cantilever of a Acutex Eliptical
tipped cantilever from a EVG 707 DE. All I have to spare on hand.
So As I set out to see if this would fit over the sapphire nub I realized it was now gone !!!!
Lost with the Shibata tipped cantilever . Now what to do? Well as it happened
to be the 707-DE had a fatter cantilever than the Shibata one I lost.
With a little drilling out it fit over the OUTSIDE of the collar used to house the
sapphire cantilever which was fit on the inside of the collar. Perfect fit !!!!
So I did a dry run again then went for the glueing right away and it fit and lined
up as close I could get using my loupe and magnifying light .
Mounted it up on my only available head shell from a Dual 1019 and gave it a try.
Holy crap I works !!! Now the system I have this table set on isn't the beast so I
need to evaluate it more in another system. But for now It sound pretty good and
I am happy that I was able to do this delicate work with only that small SNAFU.
