National-Panasonic Mystery ?

anden

Active Member
Recently bought a nice coat pocket sized National AM portable radio, model CB-295. I assumed it was a circa 1960 transistor set, but upon opening the case, it is a 4 tube chassis ! It's case looks very much like the model EB-165 transistor model from 1958.

I've posted on another forum and shown it to a Panasonic collector - yet no details on this neat little radio ?

No, the tubes are bigger, about 1.5 inches tall & .5 inches thick. The line up is; 1AB6(DK-96), 1AJ4(DF-96), 1AH5(DAF-96), 3C4(DL-96)

Also, batteries listed as; "B" battery 67.5V, "A" battery 1.5V

This is among the smallest tube portables I've come across with it's case meassuring 4 x 6 x 1 inches
