G'day all, in the morning tomorrow at 6:39 am we will have a near total solar eclipse at this location (Ingham, about 95 percent coverage).

A little further North it will be 100 percent total for about two minutes. Cloud is (unfortunately) expected though. It might be interesting. Regards, Felix aka catman.

G'day mate, no more up here for more than 200 years I believe! Regards, Felix aka catman.

Well it's just happened.

G'day all, only about 96 percent coverage here but the clouds cleared at the right moment. It became eerily very dim with a very dull soft light.

Pretty amazing. Totality would have been awesome. Radio reports from the zone of totality a little further north are spectacular. Regards, Felix aka catman.

BBC News Channel broadcasting live from Cairns, on and off, right now! '96%' looks like pretty-complete coverage, from 'Deepest Birmingham', UK!!

Cheers, og

I'm very eager for the next total eclipse to come across the continental US in 2017. First time since 1979. Where i live it will only be between 50 and 65 percent or so, but i'm quite willing to drive the 8 or so hrs to where it will be total and spend the day. Can't imagine anything cooler to see from the ground.

You should have gone North. A total solar eclipse is 1,000,000 times more impressive than a 95% one. Several of my friends flew and sailed from NM to Australia to see it and you were already there :D.

I'm still really bitter about being under the only cloud cover on the Mexican coast for the 1991 eclipse.

I'll be up in the Grand Teton area for that one.
