Hey guys,...
I know there is an overload of DAC comparisons, but I couldn't find any of these side by side (and I've searched ALOT)

Will need a DAC to stream from my PC (probably using Toslink) to a Creek 4330 + Epos K5 setup (don't have this system yet but this is the direction).

DacMagic 100 for 250$
Schiit Modi 2 Uber for 150$

Is there any reason to spend the extra 100$ on the Cambridge audio?
Will very much appreciate your opinion.

I have one of each. I got the DacMagic 100 for Christmas 2014 and the Modi 2 Uber for Christmas 2015 (best girlfriend EVER!). I like them both (though not nearly as much as the girlfriend), but haven't have done a critical A-B listening comparison between the two. The DacMagic 100 resides in my upstairs master bedroom system connected to a Mac Mini via USB. The Mode 2 Uber is in the downstairs system connected to an Airport Express via a Toslink optical cable. Any difference between the two would be swamped by the other differences in the systems (different amps, different speakers, etc.), but the reason I posted is to let you know the DacMagic 100 is not a good match for the Airport Express. The Airport Express has a lot of jitter, which causes lots of dropouts with the DacMagic 100. Not so for the Modi 2 Uber. It seems totally immune to the Airport Express' jitter. Something to keep in mind if an Airport Express might be in your future plans.
 
You may want to ask the mods to move this thread to the DACs subforum. You may get more responses there.
