Need a little help finding a CD player

Well my Pioneer CD player just finally stop working.Looking to repair it would be to much.Now am in need of some advice to fine a CD player.Ive been looking at the Sony CDP ES line and Teac PD-H300. In other words am all over the place looking for one.The CD player is going to just play cd/cdrw/cdr. that I get.Thanks in advance

Look for an early 90's Sony ES series before they cheapened them.

Have you looked at non-blueray universal players? I know they're not vintage so if you are looking strictly for that, it's a moot question. Some of these players are going for clearance since the Mfg.'s are moving to blueray. I bought a Yamaha player that will handle SACD and redbook for < $40, delivered to my door.

For vintage, Sony ES, as mentioned, or Denon stick out as available. Arcam, Cambridge, or Pioneer Elite if you have some more to spend.

That's the way to go. Sony ES players sound great, and if the laser goes bad you can get a replacement for $20 - $40. You can install it yourself, usually no adjustment is required, and newer units don't even have adjustments.

Thanks all, looks like I will be picking up the Sony CDP-X222ES tomorrow.The player does come with the remote an manual .
