Need a little help.

I’m a novice looking to upgrade my speakers and wondering about the following choices:

$75 DCM TF-250 or

$100 Smaller Advent - Great shape, all drivers work and have been refoamed. Someone went through and dampened the inside of the cabinet, added film caps in the crossover and set these up to be bi-wired (one set of wires for each driver).

I listen to a wide variety of music and wondering if either one of these stands out as a better choice for whatever reason.

Also any info on a PIONEER SA-7100.

Thank you for your help.

Welcome to AK.
I only have experience with the Advents, they are a super all around speaker. Some of the mods are a bit questionable like why anyone would biwire a set of Advents, but I’m guilty of doing some odd things sometimes.
I just had a Pioneer 7100 not to long ago, it’s a very nice little low watt (20 watts per channel) integrated, very reliable and has plenty of features but quite subtle, looks great too. It’s not going to shake the walls unless you are using very efficient speakers. A 7100 on OLA Advents should sound pretty good at low to very moderate volume, it will quickly run out of steam trying to crank it up.

I’d go for the DCM all day long. I’ve had both and I much prefer the DCM. Bass impact and imaging are way better. My stepson has my DCMs now and I keep plotting to steal them back. ;)
