Need advice on a possible gear purchase.

Right now I have an opportunity to buy a McIntosh 2105 amp with a McIntosh C-26 Preamp and a set of McIntosh ML-1 speakers for 3,000 USD. Right now I’m using a 100 watt marantz 4300 with a set of Klipsch KG 4s. I know at 3 grand I’m getting into tube amp territory. Would I be better off getting this solid state McIntosh stuff, or going with something tube. Or is the McIntosh stuff going to be way better than my marantz?? Ahh so many questions haha. Thanks to all who can help -Jeff

Well the price is good, does everything work? The 2105 has some old caps in that power supply that should be replaced.
Easy amp to work on.

Yes, he said it was as all serviced a few years ago then just put away. I’m picking it up today after work. Needless to say I’m excited as hell! Do you know if that McIntosh 2105 is definitively better than my Marantz 4300 ?

Better is subjective. Only you'll be able to tell if you like it better than the Marantz. But let us know!
