Need help choosing a new turntable

I dont think the head shell is too hard to find. It appears to be on the end of the tone arm.

That is a great table for that price.

With the Lenco L 75, I'd go straight to www.lencoheaven.net. Everything you ever wanted to know about Lencos, and upgrades and modification and plinth design can be found there. And plenty of useful tips on maintenance and servicing a Lenco.

Hi,

Woah, hold your horses. I had a Lenco and didn't know how to make the best of it. It was poor.
(Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh, it was OK, nothing wrong, but simply not really good.)

I now know what you allegedly need to do to a Lenco to make it sing, and its complicated
and very expensive, especially as your talking new solid plinth, new arm and new cartridge,
$350 is way too much for something you need to completely rebuild.

FWIW the IIX linked to is actually a IIXE, with electronic speed control.

Denon make a compatible headshell, it is not cheap.

TBH its not fitted with the arm I envisaged, as memory is always unreliable, its
not the Rotel / AR Linn LVX u-like I thought it might be but looks decent enough.

YMMV but I'd suggest the Lenco is going to be a world of expensive pain,
whilst the IIXE I can genuinely say is not difficult to get to sounding great.

It sounds good out of the box, and will utterly slaughter a standard Lenco.
