Need help diagnosing issue with Technics SL-1700MK2.

Complete turntable newb here. I bought this Technics SL-1700MK2 table used. I took it to the shop, they did a few repairs and I picked it up. I've linked to a video showing what it's doing now. Someone told me that they think it might be the cue belt, but there's a good chance that I'm just an idiot and it's operator error or something minor. What gives?

Almost certainly the cue belt. You can hear the cue motor running but it can't do anything. I used an elastic band temporarily on a 1700 and it worked fine.

I see. What do you recommend I do for a permanent fix? Should I try this repair as a complete beginner or take it somewhere?

It's pretty easy if you know which end of a screwdriver to hold. From memory it's about a 35mm square section belt of about 1.5mm thickness.

Oh, but wait. I found specs from another thread. You can possibly source something like this in a hardware store or search Ebay.

The o-ring you want to look for is a #39 o-ring (it could be numbered differently for you) or this measurement:

inside diameter: 1-5/16" :: 33.3mm
outside diameter: 1-7/16" :: 36.5mm
width: 1/16" :: 1.7mm

1700 m 2 belt at top of list, this is where I got mine if you don’t want to use rubber band, easy fix
