Need help finding someone to repair PioneerSX-1080?

I recently bought a Pioneer SX-1080 receiver off e-bay and had lights out. I know that I should have sent it to tech but trying to save a few bucks I decided to do repair. Bad mistake, I put the lights in and thought I did a real good job so I replaced the broke antenna to. Before I started the receiver sounded good just broken antenna and lights out. Now when I turn it on it sounds good for a minute or two. Then it makes a crackle and pop sound in speaker an looses sound. The only thing I can think of that might have happened is I dropped solder on a board inside. Now I need to find someone who can fix my mistake. I live in north Alabama and can not find a repair shop in my area. Can anyone suggest a repair shop that doesn't charge a fortune? I admit to making bad mistake and know I have to pay for mistake! be prepared to pay labor rate of anywhere 65 to 90 an hour just to look at it, for a certified tech in a shop. Repair and parts extra.

North Alabama, I guess shipping is gonna be necessary. If there isn't one in Nashville then maybe Echowars in KC or Markthefixer.

Being in North Alabama I can't imagine there isn't someone doing good work in Nashville? Shoot, I think I'd call a few of the Nashville music shops and see who they send their equipment to for repair in the area....maybe even give a call to Ernest Tubb's record shop.

I'm from Mississippi. There is a good repair shop down in Meridian, Mississippi called Hoopers Electronics. They do repair and eveything.

If you want to you could go to the Hoopers in Columbus, Mississippi and drop it off there and they'll send it down to the Hoopers in Meridian for you.

They do great work over at Hoopers. What town do you live in North Alabama?

DeWick Repairs (Terry DeWick, AK member) is somewhere in TN. Terry does great work for a very reasonable price, if it's close enough to you.

BTW, if you end up having to ship that thing, make sure you do it right or its own weight will destroy it. Look at the Packing & Shipping forum for examples.

Yes try Terry Dewick in Knoxville Tennessee. You can find his site at the bottom of the page at the McIntosh forum. I have had Terry repair several pieces of Mac and you can take him to the bank. He works on all brands of audio.
