Need help finding stylus

Hi All,

I am a brand new convert to the TT obsession. I picked up a Dual 1209 and a Thorens TD160 at a garage sale super cheap, and I've been hooked ever since. I am trying to replace the stylus on my Thorens, which has a black Shure Premier cartridge. It has no other model numbers on it that I can see, other than the words "Shure" and "Premier" on the underside of the cartridge.

Based on some of the threads I read on this site, I ordered the N75HE type 2 cartridge from LPgear. It didn't fit. The plastic "arms" on the stylus were too narrow to allow the stylus to slide all the way onto the cartridge. The stylus that was on this cartridge looks unlike anything I've seen in these threads in terms of its shape. It is a "cream" color, with the word "SHURE" in black on the front. What seems unusual about it is the shape of the plastic "arms" -- they turn inward 45 degrees at the bottom to fit the corresponding shape of the cartridge base. Anyone familiar with this cartridge? Recommendations for a good stylus that will fit it?

Interesting side note that I would invite comment on -- my 1209 has an Shure M71-MB cartridge, with an old N71MB- type D stylus, which also needs replacing. For kicks, I tried the N75HE type 2 stylus from LPgear in this cartridge, and it seems to fit ok and sounds amazing. In fact, the sound seemed to go from mono to stereo - is that possible?

Any help for this young Padawan is much appreciated!

Go to each stylus and when you are that page, click the picture to see it rotate. You should be able to see if it matches the contour needed?

I have the old Shure "Phonograph and Stylus Cross Reference" and the Shure Discontinued Stylus list (as a PDF). They are too big to post. PM me and I'll email one to you.

Bottom line, is from all the stuff I have, the BLACK is an M75ED-T2. The YELLOW is an M95ED. Green and BEIGE are M70B catridges.
 
Thanks to both of you! From looking at the pictures at turntableneedles.com, it definitely is a N95ED, which is weird, because the black premier is supposed to take the N75ED. Anyway, that answers that question -- I'll just replace it with a N95ED.

Regarding my other question - anyone know any reason why I shouldn't use the N75HE type2 stylus in my M71-MB cartridge? It sounds good to me, and seems to fit fine, although there is a very small gap at the top of the stylus.
