Need help identifying these Vintage RSL Speakers they look like early Elans

Just picked these up today. They looked cool. Trying to do some research into them and I can't find them anywhere. The highs and mids were terrible and the foam surrounds being damaged didn't help the bass. Has a passive 12" radiator in the back like the Elans. I have sinced cleaned out the midrange and tweeter pots on both speakers and they came to life. Clear and crisp. Yet soft on the mids. I put in some old tangent 12"s I had laying around for now and they rock, but can't get too low with them. Going to redo the surrounds, I was looking to see if I'm on the right track and some advice on some heavy duty surrounds that will hold up for a while. Thank you

The RSL predecessor to the Elan was the Sierra, so this could be a Sierra or and early series Elan before they started putting the Elan model name on the plate by the potentiometers. You've discovered that corrosion in the potentiometers really trashes the sound so until you are getting good positive contact and signal flow they will not sound as good as they should.

I bypassed the pot with a jumper wire to make sure the drivers were good. I detoxed the potentiometers so now the highs are clean and crisp. Starting to like these guys.

Funny you have a Frankenstein Avatar, I just modded these with my KEF B139 Racetrack mids/woofers I bought from some dude in Great Britain God bless his soul. I'm obsessed with this B139 from 1970's, damn thing blows away anything I've ever heard.
