Need help on a Pioneer PL-516 turntable...How to clean it up

I just bought a good looking Pioneer PL-516 turntable that I would like to clean up and lubricate. However, I have never done this before and do not have a service manual. I tried to pull the spindle out but got some resistance so I thought it would be wise to wait until I get some information, even though the oil on the shaft looked very dirty.
Does anyone have any recommendations on where to get the service manual or how to proceed cleaning this TT?
