OK, I have acquired 3 Technics turntables over time and all 3 need a replacement stylus.

Technics SL-D212
Cartridge - Technics U25
Replacement Stylus - http://www.lpgear.com/product/TSTSLD212.html

Technics SL-D2
Cartridge - AT142LP
Replacement Stylus - ???????

Technics SL-QD33
Cartridge - Realistic RXP3
Replacement Stylus - Shure N92E

I have been unable to figure out what/where to buy a replacement cartridge for the AT142LP cartridge. Any suggestions? Also, am I correct in the other 2 replacement stylus??

1 ) Cartridge - Technics U25
Replacement Stylus - EPS-P25

2 ) Cartridge - AT142LP
Replacement Stylus - ???????

3 ) Cartridge - Realistic RXP3
Replacement Stylus - Shure N92E

1 ) The U25 is the half-inch version of my Technics p-mount carts, so yes, that stylus will work. Also the P23, P24, P28... You can bump this one all the way up to a JICO SAS stylus, if you're feeling flush. Not cheap but wonderful sounding, albeit noticeably bright. Tone controls on deck!

2 ) Speaking of cheap.. if you're a cheapskate like me, this will hurt. You can still get the ATN142LP, but... http://stereoneedles.com/audio-technica.html
The good news is that any stylus from what the site above calls "group L" will work. Also search for styli with the Pfanstiehl index 212-Dxx. Hint: everybody hates Radio Shack, but the stylus for their RX1500, called RT1500, is a clone of the ATN122EP. You might find lower prices on this than on "real" Audio-Technica styli. And yes, it really was made by Audio-Technica.

3 ) The N92E is a good stylus for this body. You can get better ones, but this one's easy to find (despite no longer being in production as of 2018) and cheap.
