I’ve had my turntable for about a year and a half, it’s been great for me. I bought it used from a guy who said he went through the entire thing to service it. Lately I’ve been having an issue with looping really clean records! I can understand a repeat groove on a piece of vinyl that has seen better days, but I’m talking about a loop on exceptionally clean albums. I’m tracking at 1.25 grams on a hyper elliptical Shure N15 stylus. I thought my antiskate might have been too high, so I set it to zero. Tested it on a blank record with the anti skate to zero and the tone arm didn’t move towards the center at all. So what I guess I’m asking is, is there something wrong with my tonearm? Do I need to place some oil somewhere to lube something up? It’s been really frustrating when I’ve been playing great quality albums and have been having to get up almost once a Side to check if there’s something (dirt or those little specks of crap the stylus can’t get through) causing the loop. Helpppp!

Observe the tone arm during play back.

Check and make sure the tone arm rise platform - (black curve plastic piece that sits under the tone arm) is not touching the tone arm during play back. :idea:

I just checked and that doesn’t seem to be the problem. Could my Tonearm be slightly out of balance? I don’t have almost any issues with skipping, it’s just been these loops for probably the last two weeks
 
Have you cleaned the stylus lately? Dirt build up could cause this issue. ( if I understand your term "loop" correctly.)
 
Just cleaned my stylus and still the same result. With just the slightest bit of pressure/nudge towards the center from my finger pressed down on the headshell (I know I can harm my stylus and records doing this) it plays right through. Not even a pop or click, it just seems like the tonearm doesn’t want to move towards the center of the record!

I am not familiar with your turntable, but in general it’s necessary to adjust the counterweight to achieve equilibrium before you then set the stylus pressure. Are you using some sort of stylus pressure gauge?
Have you changed the cartridge? If so did you re-zero the tonearm before setting stylus pressure?
 
The blank disc has revealed the problem. If the arm didn't run to the spindle with the AS set to zero, there is an issue with your pivot bearings.
