Need help with a Sony PS-X600

Sorry I missed this thread earlier, I have a suggestion: Copper foiling tape. Probably available at a local hobby shop.

Copper foiling tape is used to wrap the edges of pieces of glass so that they can be soldered together in stained glass work. It comes in various widths and you can even trim it thinner if necessary. You can place the foil tape under the SMD leads and run it out to a point where you can run a lead thru the PCB to the connections on the read.

Might even use a dremmel tool to cut a slot thru the board, then thread the foil tape thru the slot and connect to the track on the underside. Just flux it well before soldering.

I'll have to remember that for any future fixes.

I think I might give up on this TT. The start/stop button problem was fixed, but now I have intermittent electrical problems. I thought I found it while moving one of the connectors on the main PCB. I reflowed the solder joints and all seemed good, but it was a short lived joy. This intermittent problem was probably the demise of the bad button as they probably kept mashing the start/stop button to get it to work.

Not really sure if I want to continue or throw it in the parts bin. Hate to let it defeat me, but......
