Need help with a sx-850 no sound issue

I recently acquired a sx-850 in near mint condition, but has a no sound issue. It will power up and pull in the fm stations with ease but has no sound output. Turn on and in about 15 seconds I hear a click from the clear contact box( speaker protect switch??) I did print out a service manual and checked all the voltages on the main amp board and they are right on. If anybody could point in in a direction to look that would be great. I am new to this stuff but can do the basics with some help. Thanks again for any help.

make sure pre-main jumpers are in place . if so touch them with your finger and you should get a hum on the speakers with vol turned up a bit . if so power amp is working .
be sure all switches are in correct position . all toggles in up positions looks correct to me .

Jumpers are gone/ I put a set of jumper wires on from the inside and yehaaaa I got excellent sound. Playing beautiful for an hour or so. My service manual does not say how to set the dc offsets, any ideas. Thanks again for helping

A beautiful thing when it is that easy. Love the SX-850! Find the correct jumpers, will only add value.

Check idle current while it is open. Be sure to clean and operate the trimpots for idle adjustment with the unit powered off, then return each of them to their original positions before starting any adjustment. If one goes open on you from oxidation and dirt with the power on things can go badly very quickly.

there should be a set of jumpers in the rca jacks on the back of the stereo, they kinda look like horse shoes, in the pre amp plugs. should be 2 of them. you can use a set of rca component jumpers temporarily to see if that is the issue.
