Picked up this Pioneer QX 8000 yesterday. I thought it was running smoothly and sounded great. I had the receiver on, but volume all the way down, when I suddenly heard a pop through the speaker of the left channel. Now the left channel is pretty much gone. I can hear the music when I turn the volume knob up quite far, but it’s distorted and ugly sounding. Also very very low compared to the seemingly still working right channel. The 2 rear channels are also muddy/distorted and have the same symptoms. So I’m down to 1/4 channels working properly. I have tried deoxit and working the pots and push buttons, perhaps will try again. I dropped some new solder on the backside of the speaker terminals on the receiver, didn’t do anything. I can hear that channel producing normal volume for a second upon first powering it up, but then shifts to the low level distorted sound. Hoping someone here can tell me what’s going on with this and maybe where to start looking past the basics of deoxit. Would love to get this unit going, it sounded great for a couple of hours!
