Hey guys, new user here and kind of a noobie to the audiophile game lookin' for some help in getting this cabling right...I have a Pioneer SX-580 receiver, a Pioneer RG-1 Dynamic Processor and a SG-9500 Graphic Equalizer. I'm trying to cable them all together. I have an open AUX and TAPE REC/PLAY ports on the receiver with IN/OUT and TAPE REC/PLAY ports on both the EQ and Processor. Is it possible with what I have to cable them together? IF so, any help would be greatly appreciated!

One way:
Tape out on receiver to signal in on eq.
Tape in on receiver to signal out on eq.
Switch tape monitor on to include eq in signal path.
Tape out on eq to signal in on processor.
Tape in on eq to signal out on proessor.
Use eq tape monitor to include processor in signal path. Eq must be in the signal path of receiver.
Another way to do it:
Tape out on receiver to signal in on either eq or processor.
Signal out of that piece(eq/processor) to signal in of remaining piece (eq/processor).
Signal out of last piece (eq/processor) to tape in on receiver.
Tape out on receiver to signal in on eq.
Tape in on receiver to signal out on eq.

Yep, I suspect you will end up daisy chaining, going from the SX-580's TAPE REC/PLAY to the EQ's IN/OUT and then from the EQ's TAPE REC/PLAY to the RG-1's IN/OUT. It's always a pain dealing with a receiver that has just one Tape connection.
The RG-1 is a neat device, used with a light hand it can give vinyl records a really clarifying boost.

Hmm well I currently just have the EQ plugged in like you said but I'm not hearing any difference in sound when I change the controls on the EQ...I have the Tape Monitor on on the receiver and when I switch it on the EQ I lose all sound. I just swapped it for the Processor and I'm getting the same result only now when I have the Tape Monitor on on either the receiver or the processor it cuts sound to the speakers...the potentiometer needles move like it's picking up signal but no change in sound when I adjust the controls... I guess I'll try the second configuration you mentioned?
