Need help with remote control

Marine0811

I love it loud!
hi all, I recently replaced my Denon avr-55 with a Sony str db930. Big power difference. Problem is I have no remote. I saw a used factory remote on the bay for $50. Was wondering about a universal remote that would be easy for my wife to use but also control most of the functions. Also wondering if there is any fix to the volume LED being out.

There's no shortage of universal remotes to choose from. As to ease of use? You might look to see if Sony has an app for an IPad or IPad mini. That might be easy to use.

All of the remotes I have used are not just simple and women do not grasp what it takes to power up a serious sound system, they just want a switch and a volume control. The Sony control of the right model will be the easiest. i got a Harmony 350 for our TV because the Directv control could not be programmed to regulate volume. Now when she uses the kitchen remote she gets all confused, which buttons control what. (I am not a sexest PIG) Just my experience!

I have a Harmony 520, which I highly recommend. It can control pretty much anything and has a nice backlight. Only hitch is that it needs a computer to be programmed. Setup activities and all your wife has to do is select a pre-programmed activity. If your wife has remote-phobia, getting one universal remote that can control everything is a must.

Do "search" on the internet and post a picture of what you want. A lot of people flip thru the remotes when out "hunting" and sometimes score some good ones.
