Need Help With Telefunken Console

Just acquired a Telefunken Dominante 5094 wk console. The fold out speakers on the top work, but the 7 x 10 main speakers do not appear to emit any sound. This seems odd, as the mains are wired to the top speakers. There are also left and right DIN speaker jacks in the back. Can I just wire speaker cables to the main 7 x 10s and plug these into the back? All ideas welcome. Also need an owners manual (I was able to download a schematic from SAMS). Thanks!

So the wires on the left of the speaker go up to the fold-out speaker in another section of the cabinet. The fold-out speakers work, but the speakers shown do not. Same deal for each side. The other pic shows the back where there are stereo speaker jacks plus a mono marked "external", but wouldn't all of these jacks be for external speakers? Seems like the 7 x 10 on each side should emit sound. How do I determine why they are not working? Thanks!
