Any good McIntosh techs in Cincy or Indy area? Need a preamp repair/service. Developed a sudden and loud hum. Nothing I want to takle myself.

Is this the best place to ask and is it OK to also post this in the Mac forum at the same time?

Not my area. Maybe someone local will chime in.
If nobody has a favorite, try googling mcintosh authorized service by your zip code. You'll likely get several hits. You can always check feed back once you have places.
I'm sure all should be able to fix. Sounds like an easy problem ( PS or ground issue?)
Which pre if you don't mind me asking?

Bobby Getchell of Getchell Amplifier in Brownsburg. Not specifically a Macintosh tech, but I'd be surprised if he's not worked on more than a few. Down side is he's so good the waiting list for repairs is lengthy.

Yrs, the McIntosh search doesn't give me much within a few hrs drive. I'd rather not ship if possible.

It's a C33.

That name sounds familiar, but not sure why. Thanks for that.
